So How Did the Term IDM come about?

i have a theory..

IDM or Intelligent Dance Music (me reacting – What?? who fucking came up with that shit??)

my theory:

so it was set in the late 80s or early 90s when a group of ravers or i dont know what you call them, people who listen to dance music the kind where you have only one beat and you allegedly dance to it, stumbled upon a club where this new dj was spinning progressive and/or experimental beats aka dance music, and their reaction “ooohh whats this music?? its so much harder to dance to… and whats that noise?? oh my god i have to think of my dance moves for this… who made this music?? intelligent people?? oh my god, i know what to call this music now, this is intelligent dance music.”

yey!!! behold IDM!!! wahahaha… oh well this sounded so much better/funnier when i was aimlessly thinking about it. wahahah.
